Meet Captain Zak
Captain Zak has been cruising the waters of the Florida Keys for years—so saying he knows his way around is putting it lightly. After spending some time cruising around on his sailboat “Raven”, he dropped anchor in Key West and never looked back.
He’s spent plenty of time exploring coastal Florida, The Everglades and the Lower Keys, getting to know the local waters, wildlife, and hidden spots. Zak’s a big nature lover, and he enjoys sharing cool facts about the unique plants and animals you’ll see out on the water.
He’s also a bit of a history buff and loves swapping stories about Key West’s colorful past. When he’s not out on the boat, you’ll probably find him diving, sailing, growing bananas, or kicking back with some good rum and a cigar.
Meet Captain Nate
With over a decade of experience navigating the waters of Key West, Captain Nate Martin has helmed a variety of vessels, from sleek powerboats to classic sailing yachts. His maritime journey began along the East Coast, working seasonally from New York to Miami before settling in Key West.
Before becoming a captain, Nate had a successful career in the culinary world. His love for food initially brought him aboard yachts and a historic schooner, where he worked as a chef and catered private events. However, the call of the sea proved stronger than the kitchen, leading him to earn his captain’s license—and he hasn’t looked back since.
Originally from Wisconsin, Nate still misses the forests of his home state, but the ocean has become his true addiction. Whether he’s navigating the turquoise waters or sharing his love for the sea with guests, Captain Nate is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences on the water.
Meet Captain TJ
Captain TJ is as Key West as it gets. Born and raised on the island, he’s spent his entire life on the water—long before it ever became a career. From navigating the backcountry to running offshore, boating isn’t just something he does… it’s second nature.
Originally set on becoming a marine biologist, TJ still carries that passion with him every day. Ask him about anything in the water and you’ll likely get a surprisingly detailed (and entertaining) answer—he’s full of those “how did you even know that?” kinds of facts about fish, reefs, and the ecosystem that makes the Keys so special.
When he’s not at the helm, you’ll find him out spearfishing, chasing the next great catch, or keeping an eye on the sky—because if there’s one thing TJ knows as well as the water, it’s the weather. He can read the clouds like a roadmap and tell you exactly when the rain’s coming (usually before your weather app does).
Easygoing, knowledgeable, and always up for a good time, Captain TJ brings a laid-back island vibe to every trip. And yes—he’s a fan of piña coladas and getting caught in the rain… just preferably after the charter’s over.
