One of the great things about living in and visiting Key West is that it’s a town without prejudice. If you want to eat dinner at 2 am, this town allows for that — and it doesn’t even judge you.

Here are your best bets in Key West late night restaurants when you’re hungry and it’s very dark out.
Midnight Snack — Key West Late Night Restaurants
There’s actually no shortage of late nite restaurants in Key West, Florida. It’s a party town, and sometimes you forget to eat dinner until you look at your watch and realize it’s already tomorrow. Sometimes, you ate dinner yesterday, but since it’s now tomorrow, you’re ready for another.
Florida Keys restaurants typically serve dinner until 10 or 11, and quite a few in Key West even keep their kitchens open until midnight. As you progress deeper into the wee hours of the morning, fewer and fewer places stay open, but there’s always something to pick from.
There are a few fast food options. Sonic Drive-in is open until midnight, and McDonalds is open 24 hours — both are on Roosevelt in New Town. Wendy’s on Duval is open until 3 am. Also, there are several hot dog carts that hang out in busy spots along Duval Street. If you walk long enough, you’ll find one, and they’re usually open until 4 am.
But maybe you want a proper sit-down meal, maybe with a nightcap, maybe even at one of the best restaurants in Key West. Some of these spots stay open late to attract locals who are just getting off of work. But they welcome hungry and thirsty night owls of all stripes.
Mr. Z's Cheesesteaks, Key West
Open until 1 am Monday- Friday, 4 am Friday and Saturday, and midnight on Sunday.
Authentic Philly cheesesteaks without the pain of traveling to Philadelphia. Yes, Cheese Whiz is an option, so you know it’s the real deal. They also serve pizza, stromboli, and a selection of hot and cold sandwiches other than cheesesteaks.
Mr. Z’s is open until 4 am on Friday and Saturday, midnight on Sundays, and 1 am Monday through Thursday. It’s located on the corner of Southard and Duval.
Old Town Tavern
Open until 1 am, late nite happy hour 11 – 1.
Old Town Tavern on the corner of Duval and Olivia is another late-night hotspot. The kitchen closes at 1 am, but most interesting is the popular late night happy hour which runs from 11 to 1. You get half-price share plates, flatbreads, wines, and house liquors, plus 25 percent off all beers. That undoubtedly makes it one of the best Key West happy hours.
As you might guess, it’s a popular spot for locals who are just getting off work at other places.
Surly Siren Saloon Key West
Open until midnight Monday to Wednesday and 2 am Thursday through Sunday.
Surly Siren is right across from Mallory Square on Front Street. It’s only open until midnight on weekdays but 2 am on weekends. That’s pretty late for some folks. Good burgers, wings, sliders, and such.
Mary Ellens Bar, Key West
Open until 2 am.
Just your friendly neighborhood bar with “stiff drinks, cold AC,” and vibrator races every Thursday evening. Food wise, they’ve got typical bar food: sandwiches, burgers, tacos, and such. Folks rave about the grilled cheese and tomato soup, which is a pretty perfect midnight snack if you ask me.
Mary Ellens is just off Duval on Applerouth. They’re open daily, and the kitchen is open “late” Monday through Friday and “later” on the weekends. That’s vague, but I’m pretty sure they’re open until 2 am. They also do late-night delivery and takeout!
Jack Flats and Pickles Pub Sports Bars
Both are open until 2 am.
Both are standard sports bars with food, TVs, and the appriate atmosphere. Jack Flats has a more extensive menu with homestyle food, while Pickles is more typical fried apps, french fries, dips, pizza and wings. They often have live music and/or DJs on late.
They’re both near one another, too, on the corner of Duval and Greene.
Angelina's Pizza on Duval Street
Open until 3:30 am, delivery until 2:30.
Angelina’s on Duval is your go to if you just want to grab a greasy slice and then continue on to the next bar. There’s a small patio with tables, but it’s a to-go sort of place. But, no joke, it’s one of the best pizza places in Key West, and they’ve also got subs and pasta.
Sushi Song Key West
Open ’til 4 am every night.
If sushi ever seems like a good idea, it’s probably late at night. But they have a full menu, and some even claim they have the best fried rice on the island. Teriyaki, ramen bowls, and some outstanding rolls — you just can’t go wrong. Sushi Song is a South Florida chain with a few other locations up on the mainland.
Located on the corner of Duval and Truman, Sushi Song is open until 4 am every night/morning/whatever.
Denny's Key West on Roosevelt Blvd
Open 24 hours a day!
A favorite for late-night chow downs no matter what town you’re in, Denny’s is your go-to if you’re on the north side of the island. In the end, it’s a Denny’s — it’s neither excellent or terrible; it’s just Denny’s. Every town in Florida has one, and the late night crowds all look remarkably similar.
Oh, there is one thing you should know about the Key West Denny’s: it has a full bar! The Key West Denny’s is located on the north side of the island off Roosevelt in the Winn-Dixie Plaza. If you prefer that other pancake chain, there’s a 24-hour IHOP on Roosevelt as well.
