Cruise Through Key West Harbor
We’ll begin by cruising through Key West Harbor, taking in the waterfront views as we head toward open water.
Cross the Northwest Channel
From the harbor, we’ll cross the Northwest Channel, one of the main deep-water passages leading out of Key West.
As we leave the busy waters behind, the scenery opens up and the experience becomes more remote and peaceful.
Cruise Through Lakes Passage
After crossing the channel, we’ll enter Lakes Passage, a wide, shallow expanse known for its calm water and incredible wildlife.
This area is a hotspot for dolphins, sea turtles, and sea birds, making it one of the most scenic parts of the trip.
Cruise Past the Backcountry Keys
As we continue west, we’ll pass a series of remote islands including Destroyer Key, Mule Key, and Archer Key.

On clear days, you can often see the entire structure beneath the water. While this can be an incredible snorkeling opportunity, currents are often strong, and many days it’s best enjoyed from the boat.

As we move along the Atlantic side just past Boca Grande Key, there is a very strong chance of spotting dolphins.

You may also see a few fishing charters stopping in briefly for a quick swim on their way back in—but they rarely stay long, keeping the atmosphere calm and uncrowded.
